DREAMING OF ASPHALT?
Want to go drag racing on asphalt next summer? Steven LaMunion of Snowmobile.off-road.com has written an outstanding article on how you can get into it. "I wrote this story because I talk to a lot of snowmobilers that have heard about this activity but don’t know how to get involved or where to turn for information on getting involved." Check it out.

TEAM WAHL OFF TO A GREAT START AT BEASEJOUR!
Terry and Dustin had a great start to the season at the traditional opener in Beausejour, Manitoba this past weekend, December 3rd and 4th.

In fact, Terry Wahl dominated the first weekend of the Oval race season, winning the Open mod on Saturday and the Champ 440 on Sunday. Terry won every race that he competed in, heats, semis and finals.

In fact, Terry posted the fastest time of the weekend and possibly CPTC history with speed of 111 mph. Terry easily won the final by more than 1/2 a lap. That's equal to a whole 1/4 mile!

Sunday was all the same, as Terry followed Arctic Cat's Gary Moyle through turns 1 & 2 up to turn #3 where he slid inside of Gary and that was all she wrote.

Dustin also faired very well placing 3rd in the Pro Formula (open mod) and 4th in the Champ 440. In the Sunday Final, Dustin worked diligently all the way up from 9th place after the first lap. Through heavy snow dust, Dustin cautiously made his way up to the front finally passing Ski-Doo's Brian Bewcyk in the final moments of lap 14. Dustin also placed 2nd in the 500 stock and 5th in the 600 stock.

There is also a new-comer to the Dustin Wahl Race Trailer. Getting some good time in on Saturday and Sunday was Brandon Johnson of Holt, MN. Dustin and Brandon have long been friends and Brandon also works for Wahl Brothers. It is a perfect opportunity for Brandon to get some lap time and for David and Dustin to get another body to work on the 4 sleds of Dustin's. Brandon showed that he has a knack for Oval racing by placing 2nd in the Semi-Pro 500 and 600.

Wahl Bros. would like to thank all of their many sponsors and say congratulations to all of the weekends competitors on a job well done. Also a big hat's off to the great people of CPTC and the people of Beausejour. It's a Home track for Team Wahl!

See more results on the CPTC racing web site.

NSDRA Finalists

November 8th, 2005
The National Snowmobile Drag Racing Association (NSDRA) is a group of professional snowmobile racers dedicated to the sport of asphalt snowmobile drag racing. The 2005 NSDRA race season was very exciting and successful.

Three point races were held between May and July.  All races were held at NHRA tracks in the Midwest.  The first race was Memorial Day weekend at the Beech Bend Raceway Park in Bowling Green, Kentucky.  The second race was 4th of July weekend at the Mid-Michigan Motorplex in Stanton, Michigan.  The final race was at the end of July in Columbus, Ohio as part of National Trail Raceway ‘Night of Fire’.

The top eight qualifiers from the three races were invited to participate in a Lucas Oil National NSDRA event in Brainerd, Minnesota.  During the weekend of August 10-13th, the members of NSDRA raced side by side with the best in the NHRA PowerADE Tour.  There were many media representatives at this event, including ESPN2, which ran a segment on snowmobile drag racing on their nationally televised ‘NHRA Today’ program.

Members of NSDRA come from Michigan, Indiana, Minnesota, Wisconsin and New York.  All sleds are Pro Stock 1000’s, with naturally aspirated engines reaching up to 270 hp.  This season’s quickest quarter mile ET was 8.53 seconds and the fastest mph recorded was 152.66.

In addition to the regular season, NSDRA hosted 2 asphalt drag races in conjunction with grass drags held by PSGDRA at the US131 Motorsportspark in Martin, Michigan.  One race was held in August and the other in October.  Snowmobile fans came to see the fastest sleds on both asphalt and grass in one venue.

The NSDRA is an integral part in bringing snowmobile Asphalt drag racing to the public and to snowmobile enthusiasts alike. Wahl Brothers is proud to play a supportive role with the NSDRA. We salute all of the competitors and hats off to the finalists. Keep it up!

Float ShocksOctober 12th, 2005
New Fox Float MXR Shocks
Fox Float MXR Shocks are exclusively available from Wahl Bros. Racing.  The FLOAT MXR shock is an ultra light shock that weighs only 1.1 lbs. The new Float Shock has many new features, including AVA, a technology that incorporates new levels of fine-tuning adjustment. AVA increases or decreases the volume of the positive air spring chamber, which allows the rider to alter the shape of the spring curve. AVA allows as much as 200 lbs. of adjustment in spring rate.  Instead of using an external spring, there is an internal air chamber that can be adjusted with an air pump that is included in your shock purchase.

The MXR shocks also feature the same race proven oil-damping system present in the latest high-flying racing shocks.  With an external rebound damping adjuster and a patented self-adjust negative air spring, these shocks prove to be the hottest adjustable shock on the market.

Standard length is 10.25”.  We offer .750”, 1.00” and 2.00” extensions that can be stacked to attain your desired length. (Sold Separately).  If you are looking for a lightweight, fully adjustable replacement shock for your race sled or play sled, look no further, Wahl Bros. has the shocks to keep you ahead of the pack.
