Wahl Brothers Racer Racer: Brandon Johnson

Brandon Johnson is the newest addition to the Wahl Racing Team. Brandon is also an employee at Wahl Brothers and has been working there the last couple of years. He's currently running Pro-Stock on a Polaris.

Date of Birth: 11/06/85

Years driving:
12 years, starting on stock Kitty Kats, then moving to mod, and in 1997 moved to Jr. Novice class's on an Arctic Cat Puma. Raced in vintage classes on a 1977 250 and 340 Arctic Cat Z, as well as a 1981 Arctic Cat SnoPro.

Brandon was high point driver of the year in vintage for 3 years in a row. He also won 340 Mod Liquid vintage World Champion at Eagle River in 2004. Began racing for Wahl Brothers in 2006, and took home, among others, 2 1sts and a 2nd in 440 Pro-Stock at Eagle River.

How did your career begin:
Got started with my dad on the Kitty Kats, and won the Eagle River Kitty-Kat World Championship at Eagle River in 1996. His father attends any races he can.

Most Memorable:
Probably that 96 win at Eagle River, as well as being high point champ in vintage for three years.

Least Memorable:
2006 crash in Valcourt. First turn, first lap, we went in three abreast. the driver inside of Brandon lost control and pushed into him, so Brandon had to push the guy outside of him. They tangled and Brandon went into the bales hard. The sled was okay, but Brandon got a bruised leg and pulled neck muscles from the accident.

Expectations:
Brandon will be running Pro-Stock 500 & 600 again this year with the '06 Polaris IQ chassis. With a year under his belt, he expects to do some winning this year.

Motivation from his Dad and sponsors keeps Brandon looking towards success.

Hobbies:
Racing Mini-Sprints, dirt bikes, hunting and fishing.
