Wahl Bros. Racing Proudly Announces Terry Wahl’s Induction into the Snowmobile Racing Hall of Fame
GREENBUSH, MINNESOTA — [September 4, 2025] — Wahl Bros. Racing is proud to announce that legendary racer Terry Lee Wahl will be inducted into the Snowmobile Racing Hall of Fame in February 2026, recognizing his outstanding career achievements and lasting contributions to the sport.

Born January 8, 1972, Terry is the youngest son of Durmont and Dyann Wahl. Growing up in Thief River Falls, Minnesota, he developed a passion for engines and speed at an early age, working on demolition derby cars, bikes, and snowmobiles. In 1991, Terry began racing aboard an Arctic Jag then on to a Mod 500 and later to the Ski-Doo Formula 1 twin tracker for Wahl Bros. Racing in 1993.
His impact on the sport was immediate. In 1994, Snow Week magazine named him Rookie of the Year, and by the 1995–96 season, Terry and teammate Dave dominated the circuit — winning every race of the year. That season, Terry also captured the coveted Boswell Super Sled $50,000 Bonus, awarded only to a racer who could win three out of four designated events.
Terry’s career reached its pinnacle in 1998 when he won the World Championship at the historic Eagle River Derby Track on a Ski-Doo Champ 440 sled. In the fall of 1998, Terry made the move to race for Polaris. Over the years, he continued to make history, holding the record for most wins at the Canadian Power Toboggan Championship in Beausejour, Manitoba (seven victories between 1995 and 2005), and winning the prestigious Grand Prix de Valcourt in Quebec six times. In 2013, his legendary number 47 was retired at Valcourt in his honor.
After retiring from professional racing in 2005, Terry remained an integral part of Wahl Bros. Racing, working as a skilled engineer in the machine and race shop. His expertise, innovation, and dedication have continued to influence the next generation of racers.
“Terry’s induction into the Hall of Fame is a proud moment for our family and our team,” said Dave Wahl, CEO at Wahl Bros. Racing. “His talent, work ethic, and sportsmanship have left an indelible mark on snowmobile racing, and we are honored to see his legacy recognized at the highest level.”
The induction ceremony will take place in February 2026, celebrating Terry alongside other legends of the sport.
