Wahl Bros. Racing: Sights Set High

Greenbush, Minnesota – (February 7, 2017) Last Friday and Saturday Jordan Wahl represented the team at The Winter Spectacular in Alexandria, Minn. One of the closest races to home for the team, there was a full cheering section for the #747 Jimmy John’s/Wahl Bros. Polaris as he competed in Round 6 of the TLR Cup Tour.

As racing got underway Friday morning, Wahl took to the track with the momentum from his podium finish at the Wausau 525 the weekend before behind him. He posted a third place finish in the first round of qualifying heats as the sun shined down on the super fast half-mile track at the Viking Speedway. In the second qualifying heat, the #747 held the lead until an engine failure led to an early retirement. The team worked to get the sled in race condition for the final qualifying round but ran into the same problem. With ample time between the last heat and the night’s 15-lap final, the crew put their heads together and dug into finding the cause of the issue.

The track lights came on and Wahl lined up as the ninth qualifier for the TLR Cup Round 6 final. Fast off the line, he ran a smooth line through corners one and two which would put him fourth in the field of 12. The race ran from green to checkered, with minimal passing as sleds seemed to distance themselves from one another. Wahl went on to finish the race in the #4 spot. On Saturday morning, running the make-up race from Round 2 in Ironwood was the first order of business. Set to charge, the sled lurched to a stop right after take-off and Wahl coasted it into the infield. The gremlins had returned and after not being able to finish the next heat, the team made the decision to pack it up and work on identifying the true problem back at the shop.

Since then, the team is happy to report that they’ve given the gremlins the boot and feel confident going into this weekend’s race at the Grand Prix Ski-Doo de Valcourt in Valcourt, Quebec.

While Dustin continues to recover from a concussion and sit this weekend out, Jordan and the crew will work to get the #747 on the podium. Follow along on Facebook and Instagram, and watch every lap live on Ditch Banger TV.
